Amenity-Driven Living meets Bohemian Glamour: Calixa
Designing Identity Through Amenity Experiences
Calixa is a new construction multifamily community in Camarillo, California, where amenity programming and branding work together to create a distinct sense of place. Rather than relying on a single clubhouse experience, the property is organized as a series of uniquely named environments—each supporting different resident activities while contributing to a cohesive community narrative.
Thiel & Team provided interior design and procurement services for the freestanding amenity building and surrounding outdoor environments, focusing on crafting spaces that feel intentional, flexible, and operationally thoughtful. Through careful space planning, curated finish selections, and layered lighting strategies, the design establishes continuity across a wide range of amenity experiences while allowing each destination to maintain its own personality.
Hospitality-Driven Spaces with Playful Personality
Interior amenity environments—including the leasing lobby, coworking lounge, and wellness-focused spaces such as CLUB X and XEN—were designed to balance energy and comfort. Flexible seating arrangements, integrated millwork, and curated artwork support both structured activity and informal gathering, while durable materials ensure long-term usability.
Throughout the project, Thiel & Team used branding-inspired design cues to reinforce identity without sacrificing cohesion. Each amenity—whether social, wellness, or productivity-focused—shares a consistent material palette and lighting approach, allowing the overall experience to feel unified across the property.
Coordinated Indoor–Outdoor Amenity Planning
The design approach extended beyond the interior amenity building to include coordinated furnishings and layout planning for outdoor destinations such as SERENDIPIA, AMOR, PURA, VIDA, and XANADU. Rather than treating these areas as standalone moments, Thiel & Team curated furnishings and finishes that create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor gathering spaces.
Additional lifestyle-driven amenities—including PAWLOR (pet spa), ENCANTO (play area), and supporting green spaces—were designed with the same level of attention, ensuring consistency in both experience and operational durability.
Intentional Planning Across Diverse Amenity Types
With multiple amenity zones distributed throughout the community, Thiel & Team carefully considered circulation, programming, and adjacency to ensure each space supports daily use while contributing to the broader amenity ecosystem. This planning approach allows residents to move naturally between social, wellness, and relaxation environments without visual or functional disconnect.
