Revitalizing Southern Elegance: Transforming a Suburban Gem into a Vibrant Member Bar & Grille

The design team was able to transform this tired southern F&B space into the jewel or “peach” of this prominent Atlanta suburb. Existing conditions were not suitable as the bar and dining were separated and small back of house spaces inhibited operations as well as the ability for guests to mingle and gather in large groups. The client’s objective was to combine the small bar area with the large dining room and eliminate wasted back of house space to create a large bar, cocktail lounge, and dining area. The guest area would serve as one large member only area while vignettes were carved out to be more suitable for families, date night, or a beer after coming off the course. The design team was inspired by a masculine palette with modern details. Demising walls were removed, and a large bar was designed as the focal piece for the new member bar and grille. Warm wood and metal accents were implemented to ensure an upscale aesthetic for the membership.

The budget was a challenge given the amount of relocation of the building’s systems and infrastructure. The millwork component was also a challenge as the client desired the bar and dining to feel connected while also allowing for visual transfer. The large expanses of space were challenging to ensure we created a casual yet intimate environment.

The design team worked closely with the architect and contractor to carefully relocate systems that could be relocated while working around existing plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression systems. The designers were also very intentional to create diverse seating solutions and utilized millwork features to divide functions of space rather than building solid walls. The client’s desire was to feel the energy of the space no matter where you were seating. The design team was careful to design the FF&E, booths, and elevated dining with floor to ceiling millwork screening elements that allowed visual connectivity as well as sound transfer. This allows for patrons to feel the energy of the space no matter where they are seated.
